This typeface is inspired by Upstream—a book of poetry written by Mary Oliver. Ecological relationships serve as Oliver’s muse, and her close attention to detail mirrors the process of crafting type. I drew Oliveen with lyrical, organic details and calligraphic forms to honor Oliver’s fluid poetry.
